Now accepting MassHealth and WellSense in Boston and across Massachusetts
Dear Therapy Readers,
We have an exciting announcement! Dear Therapy now accepts MassHealth (Massachusetts Medicaid) and related plans, as well as WellSense Health Plan (formerly BMC HealthNet Plan).
MassHealth and WellSense members can now get culturally responsive, trauma-informed therapy with us online, from anywhere in Massachusetts: Boston, Cambridge, Quincy, Malden, Brookline, Lowell, Worcester, Springfield, and beyond.
Enrolling took us some time because of procedural delays with the health system. But we made it at last, and we are so delighted to expand our service coverage.
Why affordable therapy matters to us
At Dear Therapy, our mission has always been to grow clinical capacity and expand services for historically underserved communities.
Cost is one of the biggest barriers to mental health care. By accepting MassHealth and WellSense, we join a community of providers working to break down those barriers, especially financial ones.
With rising inflation, this was not an easy decision for a small social enterprise like ours in Massachusetts. We recognize that it is a necessary one for our mission alignment and keep expanding access to high-quality care.

How to start therapy with your MassHealth or WellSense plan
The most efficient way to ensure that we accept your specific MassHealth* or WellSense plan is by calling your member service number at your convenience and inquire if Dear Therapy (NPI: 1801658802) is in-network, if any, copayment amount. Standard MassHealth plans, including WellSense MassHealth plan, usually do not include any copayments. WellSense commercial plan does.
Alternatively, email us at referral@deartherapy.com or call 857-220-7055 with your name, plan name, member ID, Date of Birth and contact information. We can help you check.
