How I Can Support You
I provide a warm, non-judgmental space to explore, identify and work toward what brings you healing and joy. I offer holistic, client centered, and trauma informed therapy services rooted in transparency, trust, and collaboration. Together, we can build a relationship that is the site of growth and care.
I specialize in post-violence trauma counseling, identity exploration and expansion, nurturing relationships with the self and others, moving through life transitions, and navigating grief and loss. I work with clients, couples, and families of all ages and walks of life with extensive experience working with first and second generation immigrants, members of the South Asian diaspora, and survivors of violent trauma in particular.
My hope is to accompany you in the pursuit of meaning-making, self-compassion, and joy!
My Approach
I believe therapy is most effective when the therapeutic alliance is forged with trust and curiosity. I operate with transparency and authenticity and place strong emphasis on the strength of our relationship.
My exploration spans individual, community, and systemic levels to contextualize your story in your lived circumstances. Looking at the whole person allows me to understand how their inner world interacts with their outer world. Understanding that our bodies hold our histories, I engage with the mind and body together to integrate your experiences and support your healing. My client-centered philosophy guides me to adapt my practice to your needs, trust your expertise, move at your pace, and celebrate your strengths.
About Me
I am a South Asian-American woman and a child of immigrants with a background in psychotherapy and public health. I am currently settled in the Boston area with my husband and our growing collection of books and lamps. I was drawn to therapy work by my love for human stories, healing, and connection. My upbringing involved relocation every few years. This experience invited me to critically think about the role of place, systems, and lived experiences in shaping one's identity and wellbeing. It is a great joy to work with people who trust me with their stories and seek transformation and growth by my side.
I am grounded by values that shape my practice. I disclose these values in the hopes that it provides comfort to those who seek it. We do not need to be completely aligned to work beautifully together and I enjoy open dialogue about what is important to you. Most of my clients share some of my values and often seek out my care due to their experiences of harm related to these values. I am actively opposed to racism, anti-blackness, xenophobia, sexism, imperialist and settler-colonial entities, homophobia and transphobia, ableism, and worker exploitation among other prejudices. I endeavor to take anti-oppressive stances within and outside of my work while acknowledging I am in a lifelong process of learning and growth.
In my personal time I enjoy traveling and spending time with loved ones, going on runs and doing yoga, reading and talking about books, watching rom-coms and period dramas, hosting dinner parties and game nights, and getting elbows deep into crafts.
