How I Can Support You

I work well with clients who are looking for insight-oriented, psychodynamic, long-term therapy support. With a holistic and humanistic approach, we will explore terrains of mountaintop and abyss, reflect on the past, present, and future, and witness moments of epiphany, agony, and, perhaps, transformative insights. Life is an adventurous journey deserving of our attention and time, especially in critical moments such as loss, transitions, and the unknown.

My Approach

"If I'm working harder than you in therapy, then we're not working out!"—as I often share with prospective clients. It's a joke to bring out the lightness, sense of humor, and expectation for our therapy space. And more importantly, it's a message meant to empower you in activating your autonomy, elevating your strength, and affirming your lived experience as you navigate and interact with the world within you and surrounding you. Clients have experienced deep transformation and paradigm shifts in their lives through our therapy space when they show up to learn, unlearn, and relearn how to prioritize self-love. I'm direct in communicating observations of your blind spots, areas of growth, and strength. We'll work on emotional process and regulation. If and when you're ready to do the Work, so am I.

About Me

As a Taishanese Chinese immigrant who was privileged to grow up in the Boston Chinatown community, I'm passionate about the Art of Giving Back 飲水思源—my lifelong motto and campaign of giving back to the nurturing immigrant communities that shape me and my worldviews. As Dear Therapy's founder, clinical director, and psychotherapist, I believe in resource allocation where we build our own table and bring our own chairs to mental health and wellness spaces where, historically and culturally, they were limited or non-existent. Dear Therapy Inc is on a mission to challenge and transform that space!
